New Delhi, December 24, 2017: American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, AAPI in association with KPC Medical College & Hospital, announces plans of inaugurating a Doctors Summit, under the umbrella of its 11th Global health Summit in Kolkata from December 27th to 30th, 2017. Its major initiatives incorporates engaging with Healthcare professionals and Govt. of West Bengal in collaboration with Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare and several leading professional associations to enhance skills, exchange of knowledge and best practices towards our lofty vision of addressing major disease states and making quality healthcare affordable and accessible to all people.

To support this endeavor AAPI will bring together the best minds in medicine from India and the United States to collaborate and develop cutting edge, practical and India centric solutions. Here are some of the key initiatives that will be undertaken:

Kolkata, Dec 27, 2017: Preliminary Training on ways to save lives of accident victims will be given by members from AUA (American University of Antigua) to the local CPR. Five members from AUA (American University of Antigua) will give preliminary training to the local CPR on how to save the lives of accident victims, with the help of equipments. These equipments were then be gifted to the Kolkata Police by AUA. Eminent personalities like Gautam Samadder, Managing Director, F.C.C.P., DABSM; The Chairman of KPC Medical College and Hospital, Dr.K.P.Chaudhury, DIG of West Bengal, Renowned Actor, Mr. Sabyasachi Chakraborty and and others will grace the occasion.

Kolkata, Dec 28, 2017: Inauguration of Doctors Summit by Chief Guest Hon’ble Minister for AYUSH, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik at 6:00 PM. Renowned singer, Alka Yagnik will perform at the venue from 8:00PM onwards.

Kolkata, Dec 30, 2017: AAPI will be organising a Women’s Forum wherein noted actress, Sharmila Tagore will be the chief guest for the day followed by a cultural program in the evening. Prominent personalities like Sharmila Tagore, Dr. Jayshree Mehta, President MCI; Ms. Agnimitra Paul, Fashion Designer, Saumya Swaminathan and other guests will speak about AAPI and the importance of Women Empowerment. This forum will commence from 2:40 PM. There will be a CEO Forum where the CEOs of different companies will be present for interaction with the participants of the Summit and the Media.
