Aster Hospitals Bangalore hosts Safe Injection practices conference

Bangalore, October 26, 2022: Aster Hospitals Bangalore recently hosted ‘Safe Injection Practices’ conference. The program was inaugurated by Dr Nitish Shetty (Regional CEO for Aster Hospitals) and was presided over by Dr. Rohini Paul (Bangalore cluster Nursing Head for Aster Hospitals) And it was also preceded by Dr Gajendra Singh SR, Principal of RV College of Nursing. More than 750 personnel from the Nursing community working in various hospitals and colleges across Bangalore participated in the conference.

Unsafe injection practices put patients and healthcare personnel at risk of disease transmission such as blood-borne diseases like HIV, Hepatitis B and C virus. The workshop seeks to raise awareness among patients and healthcare providers about safe injection practices, which are critical to the overall safety of healthcare delivery.

Speaking at the workshop, Dr Rohini Paul, Bangalore cluster Nursing Head for Aster Hospitals said, “The goal of the conference is to make sure that patients are protected each time they receive an injectable medication. Through targeted education and awareness efforts, the campaign empowered healthcare providers to insist on nothing less than safe injections—every time, for every patient. The conference is intended to train the nurses to administer the injections safely, how to do the same with zero error and also discarding the used syringes and needles safely. More than 750 Nurses working in different hospitals are empowered with knowledge to administer injections safely through this workshop. Certificates were awarded to all participants.”

On the same occasion, Aster RV Hospital unveiled a logo for the nursing community to provide them with a sense of identity and empowerment. The logo is testimony to the selfless service provided by the nursing community to humanity. The ‘Arms’ together shows the dedication and commitment to the profession and patients. The ‘Heart’ represents compassion, under the ‘Cap’, the symbol of a nurse.
