DocsApp aims to serve more patients than all offline hospital chains by 2018

Bangalore, May 26, 2017: Registers 25% month-on-month growth rate; aims to clock 5 million downloads in 2018.

DocsApp has become India’s largest online hospital by connecting patients to doctors through chat or call. Every day over 1,200 people pay to consult specialist doctors online on the app. The number of consultations facilitated, every day, by well-established single offline private hospitals in India is approximately 1000. DocsApp is revolutionizing the healthcare sector with its unique offerings; given the current growth rate the app will be able to serve more patients than all offline hospital chains by 2018. With more and more patients availing its services, DocsApp has been able to successfully record a phenomenal 25% month-on-month growth rate. With the highest user rating of 4.3, DocsApp is ranked No.1 app in medical category on Google Play store consistently for more than 7 months. Now, DocsApp is working its way towards serving over 10,000 people every day along with reaching 5 million downloads by 2018.

According to a report by the Healthcare Performance Management Institute in 2013, and attributed to “National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey 2006 (August 2008), 70% of the health issues can be handled online and only 30% issues require a patient to travel to the doctor. Since inception, DocsApp has been facilitating chat and call consultations to people, in all the corners of India, in less than 30 minutes.

Satish Kannan, Co-founder & CEO, DocsApp said, “From cost-effective consultations for primary health care in gynaecology, paediatrics, dermatology, diabetes to giving a second opinion on cardiac, arthritis and cancer, DocsApp has made it possible for the masses to access quality medical consultation across geographical locations. We designed a safe, private and secure platform to ensure that those hesitant in visiting specialists such as sexologists and psychiatrists, all busy professionals and people living in far-flung remote towns can avail quality medical consultation anytime, anywhere. DocsApp aims to help in these 70% of the health issues that can be treated online.”

The doctors practising on DocsApp are MD specialist doctors from top cities and are verified by a 3 step process before they are empanelled to start practice on DocsApp. More than 40% of the patients who consult the specialists are from rural areas which are outside tier 1 & 2 cities.
