Essential Guide to Keep your Skin and Hair Healthy this Monsoon

By Anuj Mishra, Assistant Manager, Kiehl’s India

Hair and skincare during monsoon will not be a worry anymore. While we all have fun in the rain, heightened levels of monsoon’s heat and moisture are a double blow for people with oily or breakout-prone skin. This leads to a bad monsoon semblance. But this monsoon, support the cleanser, toner and moisturizer regimen with a monsoon thrill and get gorgeous gleaming skin.

  1. ALWAYS CLEANSE AND TONE!

Cleansers and toners are a necessity for gorgeous and healthy-looking skin. Use a gentle face wash which will deep cleanse the skin without making the skin seem dehydrated but rather making it appear firm and radiant.

  1. GIVE GREETINGS TO HYDRATING OIL-FREE MOISTURISERS!

Combating oily looking skin grows to become a fundamental enigma during monsoons. However, you still should moisturise not withstanding how the climate is. It is always advantageous to use oil-free gel-based moisturisers, especially during the monsoon. This helps the skin appear hydrated without making it look oily.

  1. SAY, AYE! TO SUNSCREENS EVEN ON DULL AND DARK DAYS

Always keep it in mind that monsoon does not symbolise that your skin is shielded from the damaging ultra-violet radiations of the sun. Therefore, without having an oily base on your skin and simultaneously being guarded against the sun’s ultra-violet rays is readily achievable with the oil-free sunscreen.

  1. NO MORE DRY AND FRIZZY HAIR

Don’t let the monsoon showers get the better of you. Always take great care of your locks by routinely oiling them, buying a hydrating shampoo and conditioner.

  1. DO NOT HEAT STYLE YOUR HAIR FREQUENTLY

You might cherish your hairdryers and straighteners, but the unfortunate truth is that these heat dressers are not fitting for your hair particularly during the monsoon season. Therefore, we advise you to halt the use of your heat-styling products as it makes the hair look dull and dry.

  1. EXFOLIATE AT NIGHT

Excess oil on the face can eventually lead to the accumulation of dead skin cells on the skin surface. This clogs pores and makes the skin dull looking. This monsoon, add an exfoliator to your skin care regimen so that you can filter your skin and reduce dirt and environmental pollutants.

Your beauty routine can be the most beneficial when you make a conscious attempt to drink 10 to 12 glasses of water every day. This keeps your hair and skin well-hydrated and makes you feel fresh from within.
