ICPA Hosts Special Webinar On National Oral Pathologists Day

Addresses Critical Oral Manifestations Of Endocrine Disorders To Help Dentists Accurately Diagnose & Treat Patients

Mumbai, March 03, 2022: On the occasion of National Oral Pathologists Day, Feb 25, India’s leading Pharma Company in the oral healthcare segment – ICPA Health Products Ltd (ICPA) in association with Etsah Trinity Providers, Jaipur organized a special webinar on ‘Oral Manifestations of Endocrine Disorders’. The guest speaker – Dr Sasi Mouli, MBBS, MS, DNB, MCh (Endocrine Surgery) – Associate Consultant Surgeon at Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai addressed the critical oral manifestations of endocrine disorders in order to help dentists in accurately diagnosing and treating patients.

Dr Nilesh Pardhe (Organizing Chairman), Dr Pradakshana Vijay (Organizing Secretary) and Dr Priyanka Singh  (Organizing Co-secretary) were the hosts for the webinar with Dr Rajeev Chitguppi, ICPA’s Technical Head of Marketing as the moderator for the session.

Dr Sasi Mouli, from his experience, shared many valuable insights on the several endocrine disorders and stressed the need for dentists to be vigilant with patients with vitamin-D deficiency, diabetes mellitus, and thyroid disorders since these are the most common endocrine disorders to have oral manifestations. As standard practice, Dr. Mouli also suggested that endocrine disorders must be controlled or treated prior to any dental procedures unless it is an emergency. Thorough knowledge of peri-operative complications and their management and teamwork with an endocrinologist is the key to successful clinical outcomes in such patients.

National Oral Pathologists day was instituted by the Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial pathologists to honour Dr Harnath Manishankar Dholakia, India’s first post-graduate teacher in Oral Pathologist on his birthday, 25th Feb.
