The “Ikris Run” will serve as an embodiment of unity and determination, bringing together participants from all walks of life to contribute to this vital cause.

Breast cancer remains a formidable challenge that affects countless lives around the world, and the situation is no different in India. Recognizing the urgency to address this issue, Ikris Pharma has taken up the mantle to raise awareness and catalyse action against breast cancer.

Dr (Prof) Meenu Walia, Senior Director and HOD, Medical Oncology, Max Hospital, who is also the first DNB Medical Oncologist of India, was the chief guest at the event. The launch was even attended by prominent doctors, medical professionals and members of civil society. Dr Priyanka Wadhwa, Market Access Manager, Ikris Pharma delivered the welcome address.

“In India, the landscape of breast cancer presents a complex and pressing challenge. The country’s vast population, diverse healthcare infrastructure, and varying levels of awareness contribute to a nuanced scenario. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in India, accounting for a significant portion of cancer cases. However, late-stage diagnoses are frequent due to factors such as limited access to quality healthcare, inadequate awareness, cultural taboos, and socioeconomic disparities. The lack of routine screenings and early detection mechanisms further exacerbates the situation. Organizations, medical professionals, and activists are working tirelessly to address these issues by fostering awareness campaigns, improving healthcare accessibility, and advocating for timely screenings. The fight against breast cancer in India is a multi-faceted endeavour that requires collaboration at every level of society to ensure better education, detection, and treatment for all individuals affected by this disease,” said Dr (Prof) Meenu Walia Director, Senior Director and HOD, Medical Oncology, Max Hospital.

The exhilarating run also featured informative sessions by esteemed medical professionals and survivors, shedding light on the importance of early detection, regular screenings, and proactive health measures.

“Ikris Pharma believes that every step counts in the journey towards a breast cancer-free world. The Ikris Run is not just a race; it’s a movement to ignite conversations, spark awareness, and drive collective action against breast cancer. By coming together as a community, we can make a significant impact on the lives of those affected by this disease. As a responsible corporate citizen, Ikris Pharma is channelling its resources and influence to amplify the reach of breast cancer awareness campaigns. By organizing the Ikris Run, the company aims to foster a deeper understanding of the importance of early detection and treatment while rallying support for individuals and families grappling with the challenges of breast cancer.,” said Mr Praveen Sikri, CEO, of Ikris Pharma Network.

Through such a powerful initiative aimed at making a lasting impact on global healthcare, Ikris Pharma is stepping forward as a beacon of hope in the battle against breast cancer.
