Lady Hardinge Medical College gets a commemorative stamp at its Centenary Celebrations

New Delhi, September 26, 2016: Smt. Anupriya Patel, Hon’ble Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, was the Guest of Honour at the release of Commemorative Postage Stamp on Lady Hardinge Medical College Centenary Celebrations, here today. Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Communications and Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways and Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Hon’ble Member of Parliament also graced the occasion. Smt Anupriya Patel also released the Coffee Table Book at the function and gave away the awards and medals to the meritorious students and faculty members.

Speaking at the function, Smt. Anupriya Patel said that Lady Hardinge Medial College is counted among the premier medical colleges of the country and because of the increased students’ admissions and recruitment of teaching faculty for training of these students and also the increased patient load, there is pressing need to add new additional infrastructure for optimal treatment to the patients. The Minister further added that the Ministry has grand plans for redeveloping and modernizing Lady Hardinge Medical College.

The Hon’ble Minister stated that Coffee table book contains rare photographs of Lady Hardinge Medical College since its inception and also the photographs of the dignitaries who had visited this institution and graced many important functions in this institution.

Smt. Anupriya Patel further stated that many of you who are senior faculty and serving this institution may find your own photographs as young students or doctors in the coffee table book. “It is my proud privilege to release the Coffee table book on completion of 100 years of this institution. I hope students and doctors would keep working and serving the people of this great country with zeal and sincerity and take this institution to greater heights of glory” the Hon’ble Minister added.

Also present at the function were Dr. Jagdish Prasad, DGHS, Shri Arun Panda, AS&MD, Shri Ashutosh Tripathi DG, Postal Services, Dr. Jagdish Chandra, Director, Lady Hardinge Medical College & Associated Hospitals, Faculty Members, Doctors, Senior and Junior Residents, Students and other senior officers of the Ministry.
