Manipal Hospital Ghaziabad organised a basic life support training for ambulance drivers

New Delhi, April 10, 2022: In an effort to raise awareness of basic life support (BLS) training and trauma care for ambulance drivers in the city and surrounding areas, Ghaziabad-based Manipal Hospitals organised a one-day training program for more than 20 ambulance drivers today. BLS training helps ambulance drivers provide first aid to victims of car accidents, choking, drowning, or even heart attacks. Ambulance drivers who are equipped with basic life support skills can help to stabilise the victim at the scene and ensure that injuries do not worsen.

Commenting on the importance of this training, Atul Behl, Hospital Director, Manipal Hospital, Ghaziabad said, “The number of road accidents in the country is rising every year. Basic life support training for ambulance drivers has become essential, as their quick response could save lives. With this BLS training program, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of the Golden Hour during road accidents or cardiac, brain, and liver emergencies, and to assist ambulance drivers in the safe evacuation of victims. “

Lack of awareness of the immediate response during medical emergencies is the major cause of death. In such situations, people feel unsure of what to do and what not to do in the event of a fatal car accident or an emergency. Many lives can be saved if ambulance drivers receive proper basic training. Manipal Hospital Ghaziabad has been timely organising such training programs to address these issues. Recently the hospital organised a BLS training in Moradabad where more than 50 Ambulance drivers received training for Basic Life Support skills.
