National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research to be set up in Jhalawar, Rajasthan: Sh Ananth Kumar

Bengaluru, November 19, 2015:  The Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers Shri Ananth Kumar has announced the setting up of National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) in Jhalawar, Rajasthan. Speaking at the Resurgent Rajasthan function in Jaipur today, he said that the Government will invest Rs 500 crore in this international level institute which will come up in two years. Shri Kumar also announced that Rs 100 crore will be invested in upgrading the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Jaipur. The Institute will train 5000 students annually, and also undertake B. Tech and M. Tech courses in the field. The Minister said that there is a huge demand of skilled manpower in the plastics sector, and the students coming out of various CIPETs in the country are getting good job placements.

The Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers announced that the Government will facilitate Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd to set up a brownfield fertilizer unit at Gadepan in Rajasthan to produce 12.7 Lakh Metric Tonne of Urea with the investment of Rs 5500 Crore. He announced that the Government will also invest Rs 100 crore for setting up a 2.4 lakh MT Single Super Phosphate plant in Chittorgarh. The Minister said that Rs 300 Crore will be invested by FAGmill in the Mining sector in the state. Shri Ananth Kumar said that the Central Government is providing 12 Lakh MT Urea this year to the state to meet its demands.

The Minister said that if Rajasthan Government could provide 100 Acres of land in Bhiwadi, a plastic park can be set up. He also said that there is no Medical Devices park in the country, and if the State Government provides land for it, Rajasthan could have the first such park. Shri Kumar said that Rajasthan has been bestowed with minerals, and it has the potential of becoming hub of Chemical, Petrochemical, and Fertilizer industries.
