Gurgaon, November 04, 2015: In its first effort towards a life-saving initiative,Pluss, an on-demand medicine and healthcare products delivery app, organised a blood donation camp in Gurgaon that witnessed a participation of 100 volunteers. The camp was organised at the Vatika Atrium on Golf Course Road between 11 AM and 4 PM.
As part of its blood donation campaign, Pluss encouraged all eligible individuals between the age group of 18 and 60 years and weighing more than 50 kgs to donate blood every 3 months. The donated blood will be stored in specially prepared freezers in blood banks, providing donors an opportunity to save lives of trauma victims, burn victims, dengue, aplastic anaemia patients and road accident cases. Mandatory medical checks and blood safety measures were taken during the blood donation process. A blood donor card against which one is entitled to an equal amount of blood in case of any medical emergency and refreshments were given by Pluss staff to all the donors. Volunteers were also presented with giveaways like campaign merchandises like T-shirts and coffee mugs in gratitude for being a part of the initiative.
Gurgaon-based Pluss is a startup that allows its users to buy medicines through its app. They can upload a photo of their prescription, and the app lets them select and order individual medicines from their prescription. Orders are delivered to a user within 60 minutes of them receiving an order confirmation SMS.
