Chairman of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd, K Satish Reddy, has been appointed as the new chairman of the National Safety Council (NSC).
Satish Reddy takes over the Chairmanship from Venu Srinivasan who steered the working of the council since July 2011.
“It is an honour and privilege to be nominated as the chairman of the National Safety Council. The apex body has been doing commendable work since its inception. I look forward to working with my fellow council members in carrying forward key initiatives on health, safety and environment,’’ Reddy said in a release issued here on Monday.
“Safety continues to be a critical factor in contributing to India’s positive growth trajectory,’’ he added.
The NSC is the apex body set up by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Labour and Employment, to generate, develop and sustain a voluntary movement on safety, health and environment at the national level. It conducts specialised courses and workshops, carries out safety audits and risk assessments, and facilitates awareness camps in organisations and so on. Business Line
