New Delhi, June 13, 2017: After a string of eventful and successive years, it was all showers of praises and accolades for Inter coiffure Mondial (ICD) India at 22nd ICD World Congress held in Osaka/Kyoto Japan, from 15-17 May, 2017. The first felicitation was when ICD India was awarded with the
‘Best Section’
amongst its peers for the last 10 years at the congress.
Dr. Kochhar was also bestowed with the prestigious
‘Knight Award’ there for her contribution to the world of beauty and hair as well as her continued efforts towards strengthening ICD India’s position at International level.
Education for Life (EFL) India project which is a training and education programme for the youngsters from disadvantaged backgrounds got thumbs up and an honorary certificate. The project in India is carried out Blossom Kochhar College of Creative Arts and Design (BKCCAD) under the patronage of ICD India. Samantha Kochhar was also announced as the Ambassador EFL-India at the congress.
Adding another feather to the country’s cap, Dr. Kochhar was also declared Vice-President Oceania Region by Mr. OCHS at the congress. India is also a part of the Oceania region created by ICD representing members from Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Conveying her gratitude, Dr. Kochhar expressed, “I feel very proud and humbled at this honor. I would like to dedicate this award to ICD India members, to their incredible creative genius and artistry which has shown through at the ICD world stage and got India such notable praise and accolades from the international community. I wish ICD India grows by leaps and bounds in future.”
ICD India members Richa Agarwal and Samantha Kochhar were also being felicitated with their respective awards for the STYLIST OF OCEANIA THE BEST OF THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION 2016 at the congress. Richa Agarwal was applauded with the ‘HIGHLY COMMENDED AWARD’. Her work has been highly commended by the judges and audience at large. Samantha Kochhar was awarded with ‘INDIA OVERALL WINNER TROPHY’. We are proud of them and congratulate them on this accomplishment.
Breakthrough and inspirational gala shows featured Klaus Peter OCHS, President of Inter coiffure Mondial and the Inter coiffure USA/Canada and ICD Japan teams. The young talents of the Fondation Guillaume (a sub-organization of ICD where young hairstylists from across the world are fostered on an international level) brought to life a dynamic, anti-conformist, and trendsetting show.
All on all, the whole event spanning three days was a delight for the who’s who of the hair and beauty industry attending it from across the world. The Congress was attended by 12 ICD India members.
