Rajasthan, Sep 08, 2015: Merck Serono India, a major global pharmaceutical company, has developed the Heart Rate Measurement Mobile App – Rhythm India CardioBeat. The beta release of the app was inaugurated under the auspicious hands of Minister of Forests, Mine and Environment, Raj Kumar Rinwa, Government of Rajasthan, in the presence of Dr. H K Chopra, President of the Cardiological Society of India, Mr. Ali Sleiman, Country Director of Merck Serono India and Mr. Dilip Patil, Business Head CardioMetabolic Care, Merck Serono India at the 10th World Congress On Clinical Preventive Cardiology & Imaging 2015, an event supported by the Cardiological Society of India, held today at Shantivan, Abu Road, Rajasthan.

This is another unique proposition from Merck Serono in India, as the app not only measures but also archives the history of all previous app readings and shares vital health tips to keep cardiovascular diseases at bay.

According to Government data, it is estimated to account for 35.9% deaths by the year 2030 due to Heart Diseases in India. This user-friendly app, which uses optical technology to detect the flow of blood through the index fingertip, will soon be available at the Apple App Store and Google Play Store free of cost. All that is needed is for the user to place his or her index finger to cover the rear camera and the led flash of the phone for a minute in order to check pulse detection, signal extraction, and pulse amplification showing the heart rate estimation.
