New Delhi, February 27, 2022: A tumor weighing about 2.5 kg in the uterus of a woman was removed by Dr. Priyanka Shukla gynecologist from Apex Hospitals, Borivali. The woman had developed pain in the abdomen, backache with huge abdominal mass and imaging tests revealed that she had a huge tumor in the uterus. The 55-year-old lady was admitted in Apex Hospitals, Borivali with acute urinary retention. Further investigation revealed that a huge fibroid majoring 25X20cms. After Ct scan we discovered a huge tumor compressing the neck of the bladder which causes urinary retention. We decided to do hysterectomy ie. uterus removal surgery -open surgery considering other conditions of the patient and her age which is very safe and operated successfully.
