November 12, 2021: Diabetes Mellitus, through its two manifestations, affect individuals across age groups. Type I ismore prevalent among adolescents and young adults and Type II occurs in older age groups.The changing trend ofType IIDiabetes Mellitus occurrence in much younger age even impacting children is a wakeup call. The changing lifestyle with increased screen time, less possibilities ofindulging in outdoor play activities both around living dwellings and at schools have increased the burden of this disease through obesity, thereby seen as impaired glucose tolerance at a very young age.
