Healthcare services segment largest revenue generator
Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd reported nine per cent increase in net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2015, compared to the comparable quarter in the previous year.
According to the quarterly result report, the net profit during the first quarter was Rs.90.84 crore against Rs.82.74 crore last year.
The total income grew by 20 per cent at Rs.1,265 crore (Rs.1,054 crore).
Healthcare services segment remained the largest revenue generator and grew 11.5 per cent at Rs.745.02 crore in the previous quarter.
Pharmaceutical sector saw 34 per cent growth at Rs.520 crores from Rs.386 crore the previous year.
Prathap C Reddy, Executive Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group, announced in the 34th Annual General Meeting that the hospital chain surpassed the milestone of Rs.5,000 crore on annual consolidated revenues.
The consolidated revenues grew by 18 per cent to Rs.5,179 crore with consolidated net profit growing Rs.347 crore at the year-end.
The Board has approved an equity rights issue to rise up to Rs.750 crore for further growth and also to reward the shareholders.
During the year, eight new hospitals were added and created an additional capacity of 1,300 beds. The Executive Chairman said 800 beds would be added across three new hospitals. Oncology centres enabled with Proton Therapy for treating cancer will be completed in 2017.
