Aster buys Hyderabad hospital

Chennai, August 30, 2014 – Dubai-headquartered Aster DM Healthcare has taken majority stake in Prime Hospitals, a Hyderabad-based healthcare brand, for $12 million. Aster runs a 40-acre medical township in Kochi, Kerala, which will be operational by September. The Medcity will have 1,075 beds and exclusive centres of excellence in cardiac sciences, orthopaedics, and neurosciences. Through this acquisition, Aster gets a foothold in Andhra Pradesh.
