Bangalore, November 28, 2019: The Department of Cardiology at Aster RV Hospital conducted a live case workshop on ‘Imaging and physiology guided angioplasty’ to create awareness about these latest technologies in interventional cardiology.
Around 10 doctors participated in the workshop where Dr Srinivasa BV along with the team conducted demonstrations on patient’s real time. The workshop involved demonstration of the imaging and physiology to create awareness about these latest technologies to the general physicians.
Dr. Srinivasa Prasad BV, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, Aster RV Hospital said “We are glad to create awareness and educate doctors on new technologies involving imaging and physiology guided angioplasty. Intravascular imaging by optical coherence tomography and intravascular ultrasound is becoming an essential tool to obtain perfect and long-lasting results of angioplasty compared to conventional methods. Similarly, physiological tests like FFR and IFR can help assess the need and result of angioplasty procedure and thus help in determining the exact extent of usefulness of procedure to patient before patient is shifted out of operating table in cath lab.”
