Bangalore INDIA BIO 2013 to Boost International Collaborations, Over 20 countries participating Meet to focus on ‘Biotech for a better tomorrow’

Bangalore, Monday, 04 th February 2013: Bangalore INDIA BIO 2013 – India’s premier Biotech forum renowned for calibrating the pulse of the Biotechnology Industryis being held from February 4-6, 2013 at The Lalit Ashok, Bangalore. The 3-day event will bring together global leaders from life sciences sector for a comprehensive overview of this rapidly changing industry.The event is organized by the Department of Information Technology, Bio-Technology and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka, Vision Group on Biotechnology and MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications.

The 13th edition of Bangalore INDIA BIO will be inaugurated by Shri. Jagadish Shettar-Hon’ble Chief Minister, Govt. of Karnatakain the presence of dignitaries like Shri. S.V.Rangnath, Chief Secretary, Govt. of Karnataka, Prof. K. Vijay Raghavan – Secretary – Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, Ms. Anne MacColl- CEO, Scottish Development International, Scotland, Mr. Mark Lytle, Division Director, Georgia Centers of Innovation; Georgia, Department of Economic Development, Atlanta, Georgia, USA, Dr. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Chairperson, Karnataka´s Vision Group on Biotechnology and CMD, Biocon Ltd., and Shri. I.S.N Prasad, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, Dept. of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka.

Three industry reports will be released on the occasion namely (a) “Indian Biotechnology: The roadmap to the Next Decade and beyond by ABLE (b) “Opportunities for Fermentation Industry & Biotechnology” by ABLE and (C) Report on“Funding Your Science Idea” of Atharva Life Sciences Consulting.

Bangalore INDIA BIO 2013 will witness a gathering of over 800 delegates, renowned speakers from India & abroad and 100+ exhibitors from the best of Industry, Research Organizations, Academia, etc. The event promises to bring to the table an exciting line-up of activities relevant to a Global audience of Biotech professionals.
