New Delhi, March 01, 2020: Bharuch: As a part of its responsibility towards the society, Kaka-Ba Hospital, a CSR initiative of Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd, conducted free eye surgery for 20+ residents of Bhat and Trasad village in Hansot, Bharuch.
This comes after the initiative of conducting free of cost health camps in the village of Bhat and Trasad. The health camps provided consultations and medicines free of cost to over 750 residents of Bhat village and over 650 residents in Trasad who are not able to afford quality healthcare facilities. A team of 40 doctors and paramedical staff including cardiologists, gynaecologists, ophthalmologists, orthopaedics, dermatologists, pediatricians, ENT specialists, gastroenterologists, endocrinologists, general surgeons from Kaka-Ba Hospital rendered their services in the camp. 70 patients from these villages were identified to be taken to Kaka-Ba hospital for their further treatment. These patients are now taken in groups to the hospital where they are provided travel, food and accommodation at negligible charges.

We invite the best doctors from the cities of Surat, Ankleshwar, Vadodara, etc. to conduct advanced surgeries. Kaka-Ba Hospital, run by Kaka-Ba and Kala-Budh Public Charitable Trust is an initiative by renowned industrialist-cum philanthropist and one of the pioneers of Indian Pharmaceutical industry, Shri Indravadan Modi, Founder Chairman of Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd. He set up the hospital in 1985 with a vision for it play a pivotal role in multifold, holistic rural development, impart latest and quality medical services, create health and hygiene awareness, education and welfare of women and children.

Working in healthcare industry, Cadila Pharma has been doing its part to make people aware about various disorders and how they can tackle it. In the past year, Cadila raised awareness for mental disorders by collaborating with doctors to break the taboos associated with it. Cadila also collaborated with various organizations such as Freedom from Cancer Relief and Research Foundation, Bajaj Avengers Club etc.
This year Cadila Pharmaceuticals also took upon the responsibility to spread the cancer awareness for a month starting from 28th January at various places as well as on social media. The campaign kick-started with the tie-up with N. K. Dhabhar foundation Mumbai and organized a bike rally on 2nd February. The theme of the Bike Rally was “I Am and I Will’ and saw the bikers carrying placards with motivational messages to beat cancer. More than 30 bikers of Avenger Group took part in the awareness rally which commenced at 8:00 am at Shivaji Park, and culminated at Nariman Point after passing through Worli, Mahalaxmi, and Girgaum Chowpatty.
“Our rally garnered excellent responses from our patients as well as participants. Thanks to the social media campaign, we could break the common myths amongst the cancer patients. It is important to make cancer patients and survivors feel safe and know that they are not alone in the difficult journey of cancer. It can be defeated if the right support and environment are provided to the patient. We all have a huge part to play in this” said Dr Dhabhar, head of N. K. Dhabhar foundation.
The next leg of the campaign was organized in the city of Jaipur where cancer awareness was raised with the help of a walkathon and bikers rally on 4th February in association with Fortis Hospital. Around 300 participants took part in the rally to raise the spirits on World Cancer Day.
Cadila Pharmaceuticals and Kaka-Ba trust has always been working for society.
