CallHealth on expansion mode, to raise ₹200 crore

Hyderabad, March 09, 2017: CallHealth, a healthcare services aggregator and home healthcare provider, will be expanding its operations soon.

It is also in the process of raising ₹200 crore from private equity players, its Chief Executive Officer Hari Thalapalli told BusinessLine without, however, giving any time-frame for completion of the process.

So far, the Hyderabad-based firm, promoted by Sandhya Raju, daughter-in-law of Satyam Computers founder B Ramalinga Raju, has mobilised about ₹230 crore ($35 million), sourced from the promoter’s family and friends.

It is now operating in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. “Our next destination will be Delhi, followed by Chennai, Bengaluru and Mumbai,” Thalapalli said.

CallHealth, which tested its product during April-December 2016, launched full-fledged commercial operations in January this year.

“At present, we are servicing 12,000 customers a month and adding about 630 new customers every day besides receiving 2,500 calls,” the executive said.

The service requests are mainly for home diagnostic services, doctor consultation, drug delivery, nursing services, and also medical tourism.

It has tied up with a few hospitals for offering medical tourism services.

According to Thalapalli, CallHealth would like to be seen as a major platform to connect doctors and patients while offering a wide range of other services.

“A logical next step for us is to facilitate remote monitoring of healthcare, including remote diagnostics,” he said.

On achieving break-even, Thalapalli said the company was still using funds mobilised so far and is in the investment phase. “In every market we operate, it takes 18-24 months to break even,” he added. –The Hindu Business Line
