CANCER, DIABETES, BLOOD PRESSURE & 35 % BURN CASE SUCCESSFULLY TREATED IN ZYNOVA SHALBY HOSPITAL

Mumbai, December 29, 2021 – A  13 yrs old girl suffered from 35% burns on her chest and abdomen at home. Her parents didn’t waste any time and immediately admitted  her to Zynova Shalby hospital in Ghatkopar where she was immediately attended by Dr. Hemant Patel (surgeon). She was in intense pain with already suffering from diabetes, blood pressure and blood cancer, taking chemotherapy and on insulin. She had undergone brain surgery in her past. Looking at her history, it was a challenge to treat her but Dr Hemant Patel , General surgeon  & Dr. Urvi Maheshwari decided to accept the challenge and with full confidence started treating her. Burns wound was debrided and daily dressing was done. She received blood transfusions as she had low hemoglobin. Her platelets were also low due to septicemia which was eventually treated with higher antibiotics. With 10 days of hospitalization and intense hard work of the entire team with taking full care of sterile precautions, the patient was cured. Her blood sugars and blood pressure and general condition of the patient was being taken care of by Dr Urvi Maheshwari.

After successfully treating this girl, Zynova Shalby Hospital decided to start a dedicated Burn Care unit. Giving more information on burn care unit Ashish Sharma Business Head- Zynova Shalby Hospital, Ghatkopar Said, “This was very much challenging case for us and we treated her successfully and we realized that Burn care unit is need of hour because dedicated burn unit is not found any private hospital in Mumbai suburb zone and major burn cases treated at Airoli -National Burn Centre. In burn cases time is crucial as patients need to be treated immediately because infection level is very high in burn cases, so our Hospital is located in prime location on LBS Road where patients from Mulund to kurla- Andheri to Pawai can reach within 10 minutes in our Hospital.”

Discussing more about the Burn care unit Dr. Hemant Patel said, “In our burn care unit we have Proper wound management, including surgical debridement, adequate pain control & Infection control system & Nutritional support. At the same time we have Active rehabilitative therapies for joint function, mobility and self-care.”
