Cardiological Society of India-Mid Term Meet

Hyderabad April 22, 2018: Cardiological Society of India (CSI) is the oldest and the most prestigious organization of cardiologists in the country. It was founded more than 60 years ago (4th April 1948) with more than 4000 cardiologists as members.

National Interventional Council (NIC) –   NIC is the Interventional faction of the Cardiological Society of India (CSI). The first meet of Interventional Cardiologists in the country was held in Bombay in the year 1985. NIC midterm meet is the biggest interventional cardiology annual conference in India attended by super specialists of interventional cardiology, delegates of pharmaceutical and device industry.

NIC will provide a platform and benefit for many Interventional Cardiologists to update their knowledge and learn new techniques like LVAD, ECMO, ROTA, IVUS, OCT, FFR and how to perform high-risk complex interventional procedures and to manage complications during procedures. This year NIC emphasis on newer techniques like optimization of PCI which will be helpful in deciding borderline lesions to assess whether the patient really requires angioplasty stenting or not and also improves the patient outcome compared to regular angioplasty without image guidance

This year’s 3 days scientific program will cover series of Live Cases,  discussion on cutting edge technologies , a wide spectrum of didactic lectures, debates, sessions on concurrent topics of interventional cardiology and case presentations on various complications, nightmares and techniques

The 6 live case transmissions are from UK, Germany and Italy and cases will be operated by world renowned interventional cardiologists – Dr. Antonio Colombo, Dr. E Grube, Dr. George Nickenig, Dr.Lorenzo Azzalani, Dr. Roby Rakhit, and Dr. Tim Lockie. NIC also showing 16 live transmissions form reputed hospitals across India, out of which 8 case will be transmitted from Sunshine Hospitals, Indo-Us Hospitals, Citizen Hospital, Apollo Hospital and KIMS-Hyderabad.

One case of live transmission will be showing usage of robotic technology while performing angioplasty, in addition to many newer advanced procedures like TAVI and LA appendage closure.

During this conference, statistics of Indian data related to angioplasty and other interventional procedures performed in various centers of India will be presented. It also stresses on statistics of Indian stents outcome and safety results and how to offer cost-effective interventional therapies to common man.

The conference will be held during 11th to 13 May, 2018 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) – Novotel , High Tech city , Hyderabad.
