CARE Hospitals, Nampally, Hosts the 12th National Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Certificate Program

Hyderabad, November 22, 2024: CARE Hospitals, Nampally, successfully hosted the 12th National Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Certificate Program, a two-day (22nd–23rd November) program held at Hampshire Plaza Hotel, Lakdikapul, Hyderabad. The program, aimed at raising awareness among healthcare providers about safeguarding patients from Hospital acquired infections, underscored the critical importance of fostering safer healthcare environments through robust infection prevention and control measures.
The program was inaugurated by honorable Chief Guest Dr. K. Hari Prasad, Group Chairman & Non-Executive Director, CARE Hospitals, and delivered an inspiring keynote address emphasizing the importance of infection control in advancing patient safety and healthcare excellence. He stated, “Infection prevention and control is not just a set of procedures but a culture that must be embedded within every healthcare facility. It is imperative that healthcare workers, regardless of their role, have a basic understanding of IPC principles and practice. The program was led by Dr. Sami, Chief Operating Officer, and Dr. Mustafa Afzal, Consultant – Clinical Microbiology and IPC Program Director at CARE Hospitals, Nampally, which brought together a distinguished panel of healthcare leaders, microbiology experts, and infection control specialists from across the country, including Mr. Rajeev Chourey, Group Vice President of Quality, Operations & ESG, and Group Chief of Medical Services; Dr. Ranga Reddy, President, IFCAI; Dr. Vincy Ashok Tribhavan, Vice President, Nursing Administration; Dr. M.S. Ratnamani, Consultant Clinical Microbiologist & ICO, Apollo Hospitals; Dr. Saishruti, Consultant Microbiologist and National Head, Sankara Eye Foundation India; Mr. Shailesh Mehta, Director, INMC Medovation, Bengaluru; Dr. Safaa Muneer Ahmed, Clinical Microbiologist & HIC, Renova Group of Hospitals; Dr. Saba Javed, Consultant Microbiologist, Ramakrishna CARE Hospitals, Raipur; and Dr. Nirupama Padmaja, Consultant Microbiologist & ICO, Fernandez Hospital, Hyderabad.
The two-day program (22nd–23rd November) featured interactive sessions, workshops, and discussions on cutting-edge techniques in infection control, global best practices, and innovative solutions for ensuring patient and staff safety in healthcare facilities.
