Bengaluru, December 9, 2015: The Government has announced a central sector scheme titled ‘Cluster Development Programme for Pharma Sector (CDP-PS)’. The scheme would be implemented on a Public Private Partnership format through one time grant-in-aid to be released in various phases for creation of identified infrastructure and common facilities in the form of Common Facility Centers (CFC) to Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) set up for the purpose. Creation of common facilities like common testing facilities, waste disposal system, training centre etc will help reduce the cost of promotion of drugs.
Projects & Development India Limited (PDIL) has been appointed as the Project Management Consultant (PMC) for implementing the scheme. They had called for the Expression of Interests (EOIs), out of which only one EOI was found to be suitable for Tamil Nadu. PDIL has again been requested to call for EOIs (Second Phase), the closing date of which is 31.12.2015.
