Columbia Pacific Communities puts the spotlight on post-COVID mental stress among the elderly on Stress Awareness Day

  • Mental stress impacts around 10-55% of the global elderly population and has further aggravated older adults post COVID-19 outbreak.
  • On the occasion of Stress Awareness Day, Columbia Pacific Communities has invited leading psychiatrist Dr. Pallavi Arvind Joshi to address seniors on Causes and Management of Stress.

Bangalore, November 03, 2020: Being one of the most vulnerable age groups to COVID-19, the pandemic has significantly aggravated mental stress in older adults, considered one of the most common health problems affecting around 10-55% of the global elderly population.[1]

In its bid to put spotlight on mental stress experienced by the elderly, Columbia Pacific Communities, India’s largest senior living community operators, has organised this session with leading psychiatrist Dr. Pallavi Arvind Joshi on the occasion of Stress Awareness Day.

Dr. Joshi is a consultant psychiatrist at Columbia Asia Hospitals, Whitefield, Bengaluru, and has over 10 years of experience in the field of Psychiatry. She is a gold medalist in MD Psychiatry and is an A. K. Naik award recipient for her groundbreaking research in psychopathology.

Dr. Joshi will be interacting through Facebook Live on the topic of ‘Causes and Management of Stress’, and in her session, she will be discussing various aspects of stress management.

The session will be focusing on how one can mitigate stress and its impact on health through ways such as meditation, yoga, laughter therapy, engaging in recreational activities, and interacting with fellow residents and being a part of a community.
