New Delhi, May 02, 2019: The healthcare sector is expanding at a tremendous rate and is expected to reach USD 372 billion market by 2022. Prime Minister Modi’s announcements about Ayushman Bharat have brought the spotlight to bear upon healthcare services, affordability and access like never before. The opportunities that the scheme presents, and the benefits that it can deliver are immense.
Punjab though being one of the prosperous states has its own set of challenges in healthcare. Considering this, the Government of Punjab has recently signed an MoU with the Centre to implement the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) and cover almost 43 lakh families in the state. Besides, Punjab is also working to create an effective healthcare eco system in the state through its Medicity which envisages to encourage specialized health care and intends to promote quality medical care and clinical research, medical education & training within the State.
Considering the plethora of opportunities as also the social impact that this sector has, we at CII Punjab are organising a Conference on Shaping the Healthcare Ecosystem with the theme ‘Building Roadmap for Successful Partnerships in Punjab’ on Friday, 31st May 2019, at CII Northern Region Headquarters, Sec 31-A, Chandigarh. The objective will be to discuss and deliberate upon the existing healthcare scenario, Government schemes and policies designed for the masses, onset of technical innovations affecting the sector, and the road ahead determining quality and value based healthcare services in the state.
Shri Brahm Mohindra, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Punjab and Shri Satish Chandra, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Punjab have also been invited to grace the occasion and address the participants at the inaugural session of the conference.
In this context, I am writing to you with a special request to kindly block your diary and join us along with your colleagues as our distinguished guest at the Conference. Your personal presence would be of immense importance for this initiative.
