New chain of cancer hospitals will set a higher standard for cancer care in India and will help fight cancer the right way
New Delhi, December 06, 2016: With an aim to revolutionize cancer treatment by providing personalized care, the Cytecare network inaugurated its first 150 bed flagship facility in Yelahanka, Bengaluru on November 24, 2016. The hospital is conveniently located on an arterial road in the rapidly growing northern corridor of the city with excellent connectivity to the airport and the city centre. The Honourable Governor of Karnataka, Shri Vajubhai Vala inaugurated the hospital during an event attended by visiting dignitaries and the company’s global Board of Directors.
Cytecare is led by a team of professionals with over 100+ person years of experience in leading healthcare and life sciences businesses globally. Recognizing the growing need for quality cancer care in India, the founders aim to create an institution based on clinical excellence, global best practices and research facilities, delivering superior clinical outcomes while focusing on individual patient needs.
Cytecare has ensured that its clinical team has the best-in-class technology to deliver high quality care by investing in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic modalities. The hospital uses Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT), a next-generation breast imaging digital technology. Cytecare is also the first hospital in the state of Karnataka to have the Elekta Versa HD. This ground-breaking linear accelerator is used in the delivery of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and radiosurgery (SRS) worldwide. Designed with high precision and patient safety in mind, the Versa HD provides the industry’s largest IGRT cone-beam CT field-of-view. The customised hospital building is equipped with five major operating theatres, radiology and nuclear medicine suite, and advanced laboratory facilities.
Mr. Suresh Ramu, Co-founder & CEO of Cytecare added, “Treatment of cancer depends on several factors, including patient profile, family medical history, responsiveness to various treatments and the clinical support to overcome a challenging disease. The hospital will work to the highest standards of quality, governance and clinical excellence supervised by a multi-disciplinary Tumour Board. The hospital will empower patients with information and counselling and will also have a strong focus on services such as nursing, pain and palliation, physiotherapy and nutrition. We will also go the extra mile to ensure a patient’s comfort by providing holistic care and a tranquil environment.”
Cytecare represents a unique institution designed around the patient. Leading oncologists and medical professionals from the very best centres in India and abroad have come together as partners to accomplish this mission. The network will be expanded across 4-5 major hospitals in India using a hub-and-spoke model. Cytecare also plans various outreach initiatives to engage communities for better health.
