~India Crypto Relief contributes Rs. 1.50 crores to DoctCo’s Swasth Ghar Tak initiative
National, August 26, 2021: A last-mile connectivity healthcare initiative, Swasthya Ghar Tak a flagged off in Meerut, Aligarh, Varanasi, and other nearby areas, thanks to the contributions of India’s Crypto Relief Fund that was launched by crypto visionary Sandeep Nailwal during the second wave. The Fund, which saw contributions from Vitalik Buterin (Ethereum) and cricketer Brett Lee, was launched to combat numerous difficulties during the pandemic and has since deployed contributions in relevant fields like COVID ICU beds and rooms for people suffering in rural India. The Fund released Rs. 1.50 crores towards ‘Swasthya Ghar Tak’ that provides tertiary level access and care to intermediate towns in India where super-specialty hospitals and doctors are scarce.
The healthcare initiative was conceived and developed by Nimith Agarwal who had faced similar accessibility challenges during his own family experiences with super-specialty needs. The social initiative is being scaled to cater to 70% of India’s population that currently resides in small cities and towns.
The buses are equipped with thermal scanners, oximeters, ECG machines, and other medical devices and would prescribe basic medication and treatment to people with early COVID-19 symptoms and other diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. Besides, three-member medical staff and one doctor will be available on each bus.
Speaking about the contribution towards Swasthya Ghar Tak, Sandeep Nailwal, Co-Founder of Polygon and the Founder of the India Crypto Relief Fund, commented, “Swasthya Ghar Tak will be providing access to testing, diagnostics and treatment of non-communicable disease in small towns and villages of Uttar Pradesh and Crypto Relief Fund will help support the needs of critical healthcare requirements by assisting them with available resources. It is a mammoth task to cover so many villages and reach out to lakhs of people that Swasthya Ghar Tak is taking up. India Crypto Relief is committed to providing help in every way possible to strengthen India’s healthcare infrastructure.”
The ‘Swastha Ghar Tak’ fleet is now equipped to conduct more than 231,000 screenings and tests and treat more than 50,000 people.
“The aim of ‘Swastha Ghar Tak’ is to deliver quality, immediate and trustworthy medical treatment to tier-2 and 3 towns and cities. In our next phase, we would be expanding the reach of this social initiative to other parts of the country as well. Most of the people in tier-2 and 3 towns and cities lack access to quality medical treatment, which is mostly available in tier-1 or metro cities. ‘Swastha Ghar Tak’ is designed to bring quality, trustworthy, immediate, and convenient medical treatment to these areas,” added Mr. Nimith Agrawal, Founder of DoctCo.
During the second Covid wave, Swastha Ghar Tak’ was able to provide immediate screening, consultation, and treatment for COVID across 160 villages of UP, which helped curb the spread of the disease in distant towns and cities.
