Hubli, May 20, 2024: In a significant move to support child nutrition through effective logistical contributions, Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility has donated a food delivery van to The Akshaya Patra Foundation in Hubli. The newly donated vehicle shall assist in the delivery of meals by facilitating the distribution of approximately 6,000 daily meals across 28 schools within Hubli. This contribution underscores the hospital’s commitment to community welfare and aligns with Akshaya Patra’s mission to eliminate classroom hunger.

The vehicle is equipped with advanced features to maintain the temperature and freshness of the meals, ensuring that they are delivered in optimal condition. It is also steam-sterilised before loading, reflecting the foundation’s commitment to high hygiene standards.
Presently, in the Hubli-Dharwad district alone, the foundation provides over 120,000 meals to students in 800 government and government-aided schools each school day. The Akshaya Patra Foundation is operating the world’s largest NGO-led school meal program, nourishing over 2 million children across 72 locations in 16 States & 2 Union Territories, every day across India.
