Dr Prathap C. Reddy conferred Lifetime Achievement Award by IMTJ, Berlin

~Apollo Hospitals also recognised as ‘International Cancer Centre of the Year’~ 

Mumbai, December 18, 2019:Dr Prathap C. Reddy, Chairman and Founder, Apollo Hospitals Group was honoured with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the recently concluded IMTJ Medical Travels Awards 2019 held in Berlin, Germany. The award was conferred on Dr Reddy for his significant contribution to the growth and development of Medical Value Travel. The occasion also saw the Apollo Speciality Cancer Hospital, Chennai being recognised as the ‘International Cancer Centre of the year’.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded to an individual who, in the opinion of the judges, has made a significant contribution to the development of medical travel and medical tourism. The awards were presented at the annual IMTJ Medical Travel Summit which took place in Berlin, Germany from December 1st to 3rd, 2019.

Speaking on the award recognising Apollo Speciality Cancer Hospital, Chennai as the ‘International Cancer Centre of the year’, he said, “Apollo Speciality Cancer Hospital recently completed a milestone in oncology treatment with 100 patients being treated with Proton Therapy, which was launched earlier this year. It was 25 years ago that our journey of healing in cancer care began, and since then we have left no stone unturned to fight and conquer the dreaded disease. The journey was marked by many firsts with the most recent addition being South East Asia’s very first Proton Centre”.

The IMTJ awards are judged by an independent panel of medical travel experts, chaired by IMTJ Editor in Chief, Keith Pollard.
