To construct toilets in six government schools at Rs.24 lakhs
Visakhapatnam, Dec 11, 2014:The Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) has procured medical equipment for the King George Hospital (KGH) here under its CSR initiative to provide medical treatment to the poor, according to a press release.
Two equipments ordered
The DCI has placed orders for two equipments. The ultra sound colour doppler system, costing Rs.15.50 lakh, has been delivered and installed at the KGH.
Handing over the equipment to the superintendent of the KGH on Monday, DK Mohanty, Chairman and Managing Director, said the company had always been in the forefront in responding to the needs of the people in and around Visakhapatnam.
He said the first equipment costing Rs.17.50 lakhs, for the cardiology department, had already been handed over to KGH earlier this year.
CSR activity
“The DCI has fulfilled its commitment of spending Rs.33 lakh for purchase of medical equipment for the KGH,” he said. He said the DCI was proposing to continue the endeavour next year also.
Further, under CSR activity, the company was also undertaking construction of toilet complexes for six government schools at a cost of Rs.24 Lakhs under Swachh Vidyalaya Programme.
