Elvina pharmaceuticals limited was promoted by the cosme matias menezes group in the year 1979. This ancillary unit was set up at dharwad in a rented premise with facilities to produce liquid orals and tablets to cater to the requirements of the other major pharmaceutical units of the group. By 1982, the production capacities were found to be inadequate to meet the market demand. Hence, the company decided to build its own factory, whose construction was completed in 1984. Mr.s.s kattishetter, the then drugs controller for karnataka, inaugurated the new unit with upto date manufacturing facilities, in the presence of mr. P.j. Menezes, our chairman for cosme matias menezes group. Elvina pharmaceuticals limited has facility to manufacture pharmaceuticals dosage forms namely liquids, tablets, dry syrups & oral rehydration salts. The factory is located 13 km from dharwad city, on pune-bangalore national highway, in the state of karnataka. It is 180 km from goa. The manufacturing facility stands on a property admeasuring 26000 m.sq which houses the factory building with adequate open space. The factory building has a built up area of 2400m.sq with manufacturing facility on the ground and first floor, warehousing on the ground floor and first floor and an in-house quality control laboratory on the first floor.

Elvina pharmaceuticals limited has been authorized by drug controller karnataka state to manufacture products like antacid preparation in tablets and suspension form, antibiotic preparation in dry granule form, ready for reconstitution, oral rehydration salts, anti-pyretic tablets and suspension, steroid tablets, anti diabetic tablets, analgesic tablets and anti flatulent tablets.

Elvina pharmaceuticals limited has a capacity to manufacture 375 millions tablets, 4 millions of bottle of dry syrup, 8 million bottles of liquid orals and 5 millions sachets of oral dehydration per annum on a single shift basis.the staff is highly qualified with extensive experience in the field of manufacturing quality control. This technical and human profile enables it to comply with the directives of drug control department and drugs and cosmetics act with guarantee and safety.
