Bengaluru, October 03, 2024: Indian Association of Gynaecological Endoscopists (IAGE), in collaboration with KIAGE and hosted by RadhaKrishna Multispecialty Hospital, today announced the fourth edition of Eve Endoscopy, India’s premier conference for women endoscopic surgeons scheduled to take place in Bengaluru from October 4-6, 2024. This three-day national event seeks to inspire and equip women gynecologists across the country to adopt and excel in the field of endoscopic surgery, fostering their professional growth and enhancing patient care.
The conference will welcome over 400 women gynecologists from around the country, with more than 20 of India’s leading women endoscopic surgeons performing live surgeries. The event will also feature hands-on skill enhancement sessions and live surgical workshops, aiming to spread the adoption of endoscopic procedures, known for their advantages over traditional surgical methods.
“Endoscopy offers enormous benefits, such as faster recovery, minimal scarring, and shorter hospital stays, which is a boon for working women who need to minimize their time away from work. Yet, of the 45,000 gynecologists in India, only about 8,000 are trained in endoscopic surgery,” said Dr. Vidya V Bhat, Organizing Chairperson of Eve Endoscopy and Medical Director of RadhaKrishna Multispecialty Hospital, Bengaluru. “Our goal is to bridge this gap by equipping more women gynecologists with these essential skills.”
This fourth edition of Eve Endoscopy is unique in its focus on encouraging women to take up endoscopic surgery, with a series of skill-building sessions designed to help participants master this complex yet invaluable technique. According to Dr. Bhat, “Endoscopy has a steep learning curve, but its impact on women’s health is undeniable. By showcasing the latest advancements in endoscopic technology and equipment, we hope to advance women’s health in India through minimally invasive techniques.”
The conference will feature live broadcasts of surgeries performed by 16 of India’s leading women endoscopic surgeons, designed to inspire and educate participants on advanced procedures. Dr. Bhat stated, “This event is dedicated to promoting endoscopy among women gynecologists, with our mission being to increase the number of women trained in this transformative field of surgery.”
