Hester Biosciences Ltd encouraging Women to Lead

All the three Plant Heads of India, Nepal, Tanzania are women 

Ahmedabad, March 04, 2022: Hester is an organisation that has always encouraged women’s leadership, diversity, inclusion and equality in its ranks. The heads of plant operations in all our three campuses in India, Nepal and Tanzania are women. The Executive Director of the company is Ms Priya Gandhi, the daughter of Mr. Rajiv Gandhi- the founder, CEO and MD, Hester Biosciences. It is Hester’s endeavour to participate in closing the gender gap as an organisation with great responsibility in global health and now ‘one health’.

  • The Executive Director of the company is Ms Priya Gandhi. She joined Hester in 2016 and has worked since then from being an officer to a Deputy Director, before being inducted into the board. She is at the helm of Hester’s strategic direction and day-to-day business operations, communication and brand management. She played an active role in setting up the manufacturing plant and business activities in Hester Africa. Ms Priya finished her post graduation in Management for Family Business from the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad.
  • Ms Kajal Patel, has been with Hester Biosciences Limited, India, for 20 years and plays a pivotal role in plant operations at Hester’s manufacturing plant in Kadi, near Ahmedabad. She has a MSc in Zoology
  • Dr. Furaha Mramba, is CEO, Hester Biosciences Africa Limited in Tanzania. She brings with her a lot of experience, including heading the Tanzania Veterinary Laboratory Agency for several years. She holds a PhD and Masters in Medical Entomology
  • Dr. Sulochana Shrestha is a Master’s in Veterinary Science and the CEO of Hester Biosciences Nepal Private Limited

Hester is committed to nurturing and grooming talented women leaders in a safe, supportive and conducive environment. Additionally, we have women employees in most of our key functions including Research & Development, Quality Control, Production, Quality Assurance, and Communications, among others.

Recently, on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Hester ran a social media and internal communication campaign featuring women scientists from our campuses in India, Africa and Nepal. The campaign featured their role, contributions and aims as women in science. It also represented Hester’s multifaceted and multinational female workforce, and aimed at motivating and inspiring other women and girls to make a mark in science and technology.
