Bengaluru, October 01, 2019: An active lifestyle is integral to a healthy heart. With an aim to spread awareness and encourage people to be physically active, BR Life SSNMC Hospital organised “BR Life 5K Run” on this World Heart Day. Over 2000 participants attended the BR Life 5K Run which started from BR Life SSNMC Hospital premises in Rajarajeshwari Nagar.

The Run kick started with a highly energized Zumba session which helped the participants to warm up and get ready for the 5K run. Post the flag off by Sathish Ninasam, Kannada cine actor, the participants covered the surrounding areas including RR Nagar Indian oil petrol bunk, ICICI Bank, BDA Complex, Kaapi katte main road and ended at the hospital. Dollu Kunita was the main attractions in the BR Life 5K Run.

Commenting on BR Life 5K Run, Dr. Vikranth Veeranna, Cardiologist, BR Life SSNMC Hospital said, “We are happy that people have shown interest to participate in this run to raise awareness about growing heart ailments among youngsters. It is important to indulge in regular exercises at least for 30 minutes every day and consume a proper diet for overall improved health. Today, the cases of Sudden Cardiac Deaths (SCD) are on the rise among people in the age group of 25-35 years due to their ignorance about health, excessive drinking and smoking, urban lifestyle and obesity. These problems added with inactive lifestyle can make your young heart get old within no time.”

Talking about the BR Life 5K Run Colonel Hemraj Singh Parmar, Group CEO of BR Life said, “We are delighted to have witnessed participation of 2000 people in BR Life 5K Run. Being a responsible healthcare provider, we want to communicate the importance of following an active lifestyle. Regular exercise for 30 minutes every day will help in keeping the body fit and a good diet with necessary supplements can help us stay healthy.”

BR Life SSNMC Hospital is also providing heart care clinic in the hospital with a discounted rate.

On this occasion, hospital also provided 100 rain proof jackets to the RR Nagar traffic police personnels.
