Mumbai, March 31, 2017: Maharashtra Yoga Utsav a 3 day event from 24th to 26th March, organized by Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute, a pioneering institute established in 1924 was inaugurated on 24th March. The utsav was inaugurated with great fanfare in Mumbai. The launch saw a demonstration of yoga by special children. Present on the occasion was Indian film actor Tanuja.
The event is supported by CCRYN, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. This major event will bring all major schools of yoga under one roof.
Maharashtra Yoga Utsav will discuss the importance of yoga, as an effective tool to maintain general wellbeing, its therapeutic significance to treat stress- induced, psychosomatic and lifestyle related disorders and diseases. The 3 day utsav will see 40 workshops and 20 speakers promote and develop yoga especially the youth and encourage them to establish faith in the preventive and holistic nature of yoga.
Commenting on the same Mr. Subodh Tiwari, Organising Secretary of the Utsav said; “It is heartening to see a Yogic revival and the government support to yoga. We are proud to be at the forefront of this fitness movement. Yoga is a low-impact activity that can benefit people of all ages and fitness levels. With Maharashtra Yoga Utsav, we hope to encourage everyone to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.”
The Maharashtra Yoga Utsav will witness the participation of some of the most eminent institutes from all over India, namely – Kaivalyadhama, Bihar School of Yoga, Iyengar Yogashraya, Art of Living, Maharshi Vinod Research Foundation, Brahmakumari, Sadguru Maheshda Kriya Yoga Foundation, The Yoga Institute, Yoga Vidya Niketan, Yoga Vidya Gurukul, K. J. Somaiya Sanskriti Peethamand Ghantali Mitra Mandal.
More than 8000 yoga enthusiasts are expected attend this Utsav collectively over the 3 days.
Speakers will include senior experts in Yoga such as Shri. O. P. Tiwari, Mr. Mickey Mehta, Dr. Rajvi Mehta and many ore as well as those who believe in Yoga. Shri. Apurva Chandra, Principal Secretary (MS), Shri. Bharat Dabholkar, Dr. Ms. Pradnya Sarvade Additional Director General of Police, Dr. H. R. Nagendra the Yoga Guru of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
