Mumbai, December 12, 2015:The Insurance Information Bureau (IIB) of India has launched a registry of 32,651 unique hospitals called Registry of Hospitals in Network of Insurance (ROHINI) to ease inefficiencies in claim settlements.
The Hospital Self Service Portal will allow hospitals to register and edit information and provide an electronic exchange of medical records between hospitals and insurance companies to ensure faster claims processing, said R Raghavan, CEO, IIB at a press meet in Mumbai.
For consumers, the registry will help in providing database of hospitals and medical records, added Raghavan.
T S Vijayan, Chairman of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India said, “The insurance industry will gain access to transactional ease for empanelment, payment flow, investigations and data for health insurance analytics which will help in faster claim settlement.”
The portal will facilitate national, state and regional level analytical reporting on healthcare aspects like geography based trends, patterns of disease occurrence and cost patterns which will help determine standardised treatment costs.-BusinessLine
