IPA (Delhi State Branch) Signs MoU with 3 Pharmacy Institutions to Upgrade Professional Skills of Faculty and Students

New Delhi, September 29, 2021: The Indian Pharmaceutical Association-Delhi State Branch (IPA-DSB) has signed a Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with three institutions, namely, Meerut Institute of Engineering & Technology (MIET), Department of Pharmaceutical Technology (DoPT), Meerut, Uttar Pradesh; B.S. Anangpuria Institute of Pharmacy (BSAIP), Faridabad, Haryana; and Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research University (DPSRU), New Delhi for continuing professional development programs for faculty as-well-as students of pharmacy.

Dr Nitin Sharma, Principal of DoPT, MIET exchanged the signed MoU with Kalhan Bazaz, President of IPA-DSB & Editor of The Indian Pharmacist on July 26, 2021. The proposal was witnessed by Ms Garima Agarwal, Assistant Professor, DoPT; Dr Anoop Kumar, Professor, DoPT; Dr Neeraj Kumar, Secretary, IPA-DSB; Rajesh Agarwal, Executive Council (EC) Member, IPADSB; and MIET staff along with IPADSB EC members. The MoU is expected to remain in force for a period of one year, i.e. from July 26, 2021 to July 25, 2022. Commenting on the development, Dr Nitin Sharma said, “This MoU with IPA-DSB is an added benefit to the students & staff of MIET in terms of providing training to students and faculty of the institute.” Vishnu Sharan, Chairman and Prof Puneet Agarwal, Vice-Chairman of MIET Group of Institutions expressed their happiness on signing of the MoU and promised to extend their support & cooperation in the joint collaboration.

On the other hand, Prof Roop K. Khar, Director, B.S. Anangpuria  Educational Institutes (BSAEI), exchanged the signed MoU with Kalhan Bazaz on July 30, 2021. The proposal was witnessed by Prof (Dr) Shiv Kumar Yadav, Principal, BSAIP; Brijesh Upadhyay, Registar, BSAEI; Dr Neeraj Kumar; and BSAIP staff along with IPA-DSB EC members. The MoU is valid from July 30, 2021 to July 29, 2022.

Also, Prof P.K. Sahoo, Director, Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences And Research (DIPSAR), a constituent college of Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research University (DPSRU), exchanged the signed MoU with Kalhan Bazaz on August 17, 2021. The programme was conducted under the chairmanship of Prof Ramesh K. Goyal, Vice Chancellor (VC), DPSRU, and DPSRU staff along with IPADSB EC members. The MoU is expected to remain in force for a period of one year, i.e. from August 01, 2021 to July 31st, 2022.

The MoUs signed with all the three institutions will provide cooperation for personality development programs, joint conferences & workshops, job fairs, exchange of information in the form of publications & journals, and any other activity viewed to be mutually beneficial to all the institutions as-well-as IPA-DSB. This MoU will also provide career guidance to pharmacy students through the Association’s PACE (Proficient Advice on Career and Education) programme and train the trainers programme by giving training to faculty of handling sophisticated analytical instruments by expert technicians in the field.

“Not less than 6 joint activities & training programs, 2 PACE programs and 1 job fair shall be conducted within the duration of one year. This MoU will also act as a source of observation and motivation for all-round development of students in particular and institute in general,” said Kalhan Bazaz, on signing of the MoUs with the prestigious institutes, in a press statement. “This MoU will give a big push to academia-association interaction while promoting the Indian pharmaceutical community as a whole,” said Dr Neeraj Kumar, in the note.

Meanwhile, under the joint mechanism, both Association and all the 3 institutions will soon roll-out various program schedule for the next one year to achieve the objectives of the signed MoU.
