Hyderabad, February 08, 2018: Ireland is looking ahead to BioAsia 2018, another in the set of this premier occasion for life sciences, pharmaceuticals and health care industry, to woo Indian pharma firms.
“We’re seeing a growing number of Indian businesses ,using Ireland as the gateway to Europe,” manager for IDA Ireland at India Tanaz Buhariwalla stated in a media discussion on Wednesday.
The Indian industry has witnessed challenges like gain erosion, South East Asian competitions, Brexit and absence of fresh opportunities in heritage chemistry-based products, ” she explained.
To maintain their leadership position, Indian pharma businesses will need to innovate and move up the value chain and several are picking Ireland to do so, ” she explained, pointing out that Ireland has been a favorite destination for its life sciences sector on account of this ecosystem created over a span of over 50 decadesago
BioAsia gets underway at Hyderabad on February 22. Ms. Buhariwalla reported the event provides a platform for businesses, research institutes, regulators and investors to foster innovation and growth. Ireland is among those worldwide partners for the function.
In a launch, Telangana Minister for Industries and IT K.T. Rama Rao said during a visit of a delegation in the State authorities in 2016 into Ireland, “we discovered that Ireland has strong life sciences and bio-pharmaceutical ecosystem and can be just one of the major worldwide destinations for pharmaceuticals”.
BioAsia would assist Ireland showcase its accomplishments in bio-pharmaceuticals and life sciences industries, said Industries Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said.
