New Delhi, June 28, 2016: Irrespective of whether you have seen Udta Punjab or not, the increased hype of the movie has told us one thing, drug abuse is one of the most serious problems in India. The fight against drugs has become really important these days, and a few simple precautionary measures can be the first step towards fighting drug abuse. This International Day Against Drug Abuse. Dr Rashi, Psychologist, Park Group of Hospital talks about ways to avoid the same.
The schools and colleges should have awareness programs, to tell the students the ill effects of the drugs. Considering the fact that children spend most of their time in school/college, the environment should be drug free, and they should be made aware about it in a friendly way. If the children get proper support from friends and family, they will not come under the influence of drugs at the first place.
The parents should also be cautious, and teach their kids to say no to drugs. Most of the kids start taking drugs under peer pressure, and they should be taught how to avoid peer pressure. The parents should also know the signs of drug addiction, and if they see it in their kids, they must take care of it immediately. Some of the most common signs are frequent urination and isolated behaviour. Your child might also become restless if they are under the influence of drugs.
