LANXESS brings a smile to the faces of the special children of Jidd school in Thane


 Thane, October 26, 2013:
LANXESS India Private Limited, the leading specialty chemicals company, is supporting yet another cause, as a part of its commitment towards education and welfare of the society. Continuing its social responsibility programme, the company has supported Jidd school to procure essential educational items for differently abled children of the school..

In a simple function, Mr. Sunder Rajan, Head of Corporate Communications and CSR, LANXESS India Pvt. Ltd.Inaugurated the facilities made available to the children. Also present on the occasion were Mr. Sandip Malvi, Deputy Commissioner and PRO, Thane Municipal Corporation and other employees of LANXESS.

Thane Municipal Corporation’s (TMC)Jidd School, helps aid and educate over a hundred differently abled children, who mainly come from lower income group families. The contribution from LANXESSis being utilized by the school to facilitate teaching and learning aids, CD players, Cerebral Palsy chairs, soft gym equipments, cupboards, and other necessary educational material in order to assist the education of these students. Earlier, LANXESS employees voluntarily raised funds to provide the school with a wheelchair and a standing chair. They also volunteered for the school’s Annual sports day at a stadium in Thane.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Joerg Strassburger, Managing Director and Country Representative, LANXESS India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Jidd school has been doing a commendable job in helping differently abled children to become independent so that they lead a normal life. We are pleased to be of help to them and wish them success in all their future endeavors”.

LANXESS believes in empowering education and has taken many initiatives in India, in the area of education, skills training and preserving cultural heritage. LANXESS has previously contributed to NGOs, technical institutions and schools to support education in every region that it operates in.
