Malvinder Mohan Singh receives the Punjabi Icon Award

Gurgaon,April 15, 2015: Malvinder Mohan Singh , the Executive Chairman, Fortis Healthcare, was awarded with “Punjabi Icon Award” in the Industry category at a ceremony hosted by Punjabi Cultural Heritage Board (PCHB) for his vision and achievement as a corporate leader. The award ceremony was held on the occasion of Baisakhi Di Raat in Mumbai.

The award is bestowed upon icons of the Punjabi community who have excelled in their respective fields. Some other icons who were given the award include; Mr Rupinder Singh Sodhi, Managing Director, Amul, for Co-Operative category; S. Kanwar Singh Sandhu, for Journalism category;Mr. Virender Sehwag, for Sports category; Mr. Ayushmann Khurrana and Ms. Suveen Chawla, for Bollywood category, among others.

The chief guest of the evening was General Bikram Singh,retired Chief of Staff of the Indian Army.The programme saw an electrifying musical performance by Punjabi Pop singer Sukshinder Shinda and a comic act by comedian Gurpreet Ghuggi.

On receiving the award, Mr Malvinder Mohan Singh said, “I accept this award on behalf of the 30,000-strong Fortis and Religare family . I also dedicate this award to the Youth of Punjab, who are the future of the Punjabi Community and our Nation.”
