Medical Material Database Company Launches in India; Carna Medical Database to Establish a Medical Logistics Network in India

New Delhi, Wednesday, December 18, 2013:
Konoike Transport and Medius Holdings with their head offices in Tokyo have come together in a 70-30 joint venture to launch their Indian arm Carna Medical Database Pvt. Ltd. The Indian company has been founded with an investment of $4million in its first phase. India has witnessed a dramatic growth in the healthcare sector. There has been a rise in the number of hospitals, which is equally proportionate to the huge demand of services in the medical sector. However, since each hospital has its own unique name and code for a product (syringe, needle and catheter), at the time of the inventory management and placing orders to the distributors it can lead to mistakes in orders or delivery, and shortage of stock and excess inventory. Hence, for further development, a Medical Standard Code and a fundamental database system is the need of the hour.

Carna Medical Database Pvt. Ltd. has been created for maintaining a comprehensive medical database and an efficient logistics network in India. It is the first company in India to set up the standardized coding system for medical consumable and to launch a service medical database.

The company will utilize its investors experience in providing world class services to the healthcare sector in Japan. The company has set up its operations in Gurgaon, Haryana.

Speaking on the occasion of the company’s launch Mr Minoru Amano, Chief Executive Officer, Carna Medical Database Pvt Ltd, said, “Carna is a protective Roman Goddess, who is believed to bring strength to the body. Medical Standard Code and fundamental database system will help organize the Indian healthcare system and ensure a smooth functioning without any hitches.”

Dr. Ashustosh Sukla, Managing Director, Carna Medical Database Pvt. Ltd. said, “The healthcare system in the country is developing rapidly and continues to expand in coverage, services and spending in both private and public sector. This has created a large market for hospital information and support system. At Carna we create medical material database and establish a logistics network based on this database.
