New Delhi, July 28, 2016: Mr. Srinivasan V is regarded as the pioneer in Indian Pharma Industry who believed strongly in ‘ethical promotion’ of formulations to the Medical Profession through:
– Hard work (morning and evening work)
– Disciplined and Organized (Implement the Sales/Marketing strategies in letter and spirit in the field with every customer)
– Effective Communication (i.e. The ‘detailing’ by the Field Force should be so effective that the Customers appreciate it, and then prescribe the products being promoted regularly)
These principles were very dear to him. He implemented them personally during his working days, and also impressed upon each and every Field Force he came across to implement these principles in letter and spirit, in all sincerity. Obviously those practiced these principles tasted success which lasted long, hence they spread the same culture to their friends and colleagues in the Pharma Industry.
He has headed Sales Administration, Field HR, and Training functions in many Pharma Companies, wherein he has ensured that all issues relating to the Field Force are taken care of and resolved immediately, to make sure that Field Force are left with only one objective, and that is “deliver consistent performance month after month”. Many Field Force who had the opportunity to be associated with Mr. Srinivasan V in any way, still fondly remember the speed with which Mr. Srinivasan used to co-ordinate/follow up with the Department concerned, resolved their issues, and made their job that much easier. He strongly advocated for attractive incentives linked to performance, timely release of incentive payments, and taking care of career growth of the deserved within Organizations.
He had the opportunity to work for reputed Pharma Companies like M/s.Wander (India) Ltd, Modi-Mundi Pharma Ltd, Panacea Biotech Ltd, Kee Pharma Ltd, and Stedman Pharmaceuticals Ltd, etc. In addition, he has also worked in abroad, like Sultanate of Oman, and Canada.
When he was Training the Field Force in Pharma Industry, he used to give lot of attention on ways to promote the products ethically, and also on ‘effective detailing’ to create the desired impact on the customers. He used to sit with the Field Force till 11 p.m. every day during Training programmes, and make them practice and master the detailing stories. During his Training days, many Pharma Companies recorded the minimal rejection rate at the conclusion of training programmes. His students used to appreciate him for his simple, and easy to understand way of training.
He has shared his experiences/insight on these principles through over 400 published articles on Pharma Management in India and abroad. His articles not only help newly joined Field Force to understand and settle down in the job comfortably, but also shows ways and means leading to consistent performance, and taste success in the job.
Recognizing his contribution to Pharma Industry, one leading Consultant based at Mumbai has honoured him with an award “The Transformational Leader of the Year” in 2013. It is very rare to find such a personality like Mr. Srinivasan V who believes strongly in ethical promotion of products, and tirelessly promoted this culture and its values amongst the Field Force, during times when Field Force search for ‘quick-fix’ results somehow.
