Mumbai District AIDS Control Society partners with Metropolis Healthcare to launch Know Your Status campaign

  • Patients can check HIV tests at 143 selected centers of Metropolis Healthcare across Mumbai
  • Marathi celebs Subodh Bhave,  ShivajiSatam& Dr. Nilesh Sabale to endorse the campaign

Mumbai, December 04, 2018: On the occasion of 30th anniversary of the World AIDS Day, Mumbai District AIDS Control Society (MDACS) has partnered with Metropolis Healthcare Limited, one of the largest chains of diagnostics in India. MDACS is a part of National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO).

In accordance with this year’s World AIDS Day theme of ‘Know your status’, MDACS has planned a campaign to encourage people to actively seek HIV testing by reducing stigma and discrimination associated with HIV test.

Under the partnership between MDACS and Metropolis Healthcare, a unique campaign titled “Know Your Status” has been launched between 1stof December 2018 to 7th December 2018, whereby patients across Mumbai can avail HIV testing Facility of Metropolis Healthcare Ltd at selected 143 centers in Mumbai, with a fee as nominal as Rs 75/- per test.The free HIV testing services are available in 222 government /MCGM hospitals, maternity homes and dispensaries in the city. Commenting on this partnership with MDACS and launch of the campaign “Know Your Status”, Dr Sushil Shah, Chairman, Metropolis Healthcare Limited said, “Today globally three in four people living with HIV know their status but we still have miles to go as the latest UNAIDS report shows. Through this initiative, Metropolis Healthcare will urge people at large to come forward and do their HIV tests. An early detection can save not only lives of patients but also, will help the families dependent on the patient.”
