Narayana Hrudayalaya adapts Cloud application of ICT Health to become the world’s most respected and Error Free Care Delivery Network

Bengaluru, Friday, January 18, 2013: With technology advancing in the world at lightning pace, the need to ensure that healthcare organizations are keeping pace with these changes for the patient’s benefit arises. ICT HEALTH announced today that its HINAI® Health Information System Network is currently being used live across all the Narayana Hrudayalaya (NH) Group Hospitals in India. A single, multi-tenant, cloud deployed instance of HINAI® serves over 25+ Hospitals and diagnostic centers with more than a million patients annually, making it one of the world’s largest integrated care delivery networks.

Brigadier General (Retd.) Suleiman Al Adawi, Group Chairman ICT HEALTH, in a message expressing his pleasure at this achievement, noted that “Care givers across NH facilities, now have instant access to relevant patient information, vital to informed clinical interventions, and improved outcomes.”

Speaking at the conference Dr. Devi Shetty, Padma Bhushan, Founder and Chairman of the NH Group, said “We were earlier using IT systems that were locally installed at each hospital, and were unable to get a consolidated view of our operations. The aggressive expansion plans of the Group, dictated a strategic re-think of our IT philosophy. We chose to engage with ICT HEALTH, with the confidence that the HINAI® system could deliver an integrated solution across our enterprise, and provide the agility necessary to build sustainable competitive advantage. It is a valuable opportunity to expand to the growing needs of innovation in the health care sector.”

Further elaborating on this, Dr. Devi Shetty said, “This is a vision of the highest quality of patient care and services at the most affordable cost. In ten years from now, even the billions of people in the slum will access high-tech healthcare with dignity. This will reduce the deaths caused due to medical error by preventing the doctors from any such mishaps. Technology has been implemented in every field and now we are implementing IT in the medical field before it is thrust on us. This Cloud technology is completely for the customer’s benefit and for increasing the efficiency of the medical system.”

Dr. Devi Shetty further added, “We now benefit from real-time actionable insight on revenue and costs, consolidated across all our hospitals. This has resulted in improved planning and coordination, leading to increased productivity, higher efficiency, enhanced resource optimization and economies of scale. HINAI® has been critical to ensuring that patients at all NH facilities continue to be treated with the highest quality of compassionate care without compromising affordability.”

“NH is now looking forward to extending their reach of care, and delivering a more engaged patient experience by extensively leveraging the mobility and collaboration features of the HINAI® system. This would then enable our patients to request for and consume services such as online registration, appointments, access to electronic medical records, test results etc. Such E-services, including telemedicine, could be accessed securely by registered patients via the internet and mobile devices,” according to Dr. Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, Managing Director, Vice Chairman and Group CEO, of the NH Group.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gautam Dey, Group CEO ICT Health said, “This long-term engagement with NH has been extremely exciting for our team. The NH Group, with its global scale of operations, driven by Dr. Devi Shetty’s vision and internationally respected model of care delivery, has been the ideal environment to realize the enterprise potential of the HINAI® system. We will continue to build on our fruitful and transparent relationship, and leverage this success to provide forward momentum to our growth ambitions”.

Mr. Gautam Dey further added, “There are already one million patients registered on the ICT Health through NH. Going forward, we are looking at reaching 5 million registered subscribers by the end of 2014.”
