New Delhi, 21 Mar, 2015: Babaria Institute of Pharmacy in association with IPA- Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Gujarat State Branch celebrated National Pharmacy week on theme “Responsible Use of Medicines : Role of Pharmacists”. Under this umbrella, SKIT Presentation and Awareness Drive on the said theme was successfully conducted.
SKIT presentation was organized on 8th January 2015 and Awareness Drive on 19th January 2015. B. Pharm. Students of BIP actively participated in writing, editing and performing the SKIT under guidance of Dr. Vandana B. Patel, Principal, and Mr. Ashish Soni, faculty member, and presented it in various streets of Varnama village, Vadodara. Dr. Manisha Lalan and Mrs. Raj Khiani, faculty members of the institute also motivated the volunteers during the play. The street play depicted the right use of medicines and also demonstrated the consequences due to its non compliance. The students presented it in a very palatable manner and it was highly appreciated by the Sarpanch of the village.
The Students of Babaria Institute of Pharmacy along with two faculty members, Mr. Ashish Soni and Mr. Shailesh Parmar, actively conducted the Awareness Drive on “Responsible Use of Medicines” at Kayavarohan Village of Vadodara district. Students along with faculty members covered more than 250 houses. In some of the area, collective awareness was created by gathering a mass of 10 to 30 villagers at main points of mahollas. The students of Primary school, Kayavarohan were made aware about the ““Rational Use of Medicines” by projecting the videos and pictures. The students who worked excellently in NPW Celebration activity were awarded with medal by Dr. Vandana B. Patel, Principal. The villagers understood the importance of instructions provided by Pharmacist like…..Why to use/ When to use? / How to use? / How to store? And so on. 500+ villagers benefited from above SKIT & Awareness programme.
