Nifty Pharma index in the red; Cipla, Lupin top drags

New Delhi, November 27, 2017: Pharma stocks CiplaBSE -0.46 % (down 1.70 per cent), GlaxoSmithKline PharmaceuticalsBSE -0.79 % (down 0.92 per cent) and LupinBSE 0.30 % (down 0.42 per cent) were trading down in afternoon trade on Monday, dragging the Nifty Pharma index down.

The Nifty Pharma index was trading 0.24 per cent down at 9,140 around 01:05 pm (IST) according to economictimes.indiatimes.com.

Shares of Sun Pharmaceutical IndustriesBSE 0.70 % (down 0.35 per cent), Dr. Reddy’s LaboratoriesBSE -0.56 % (down 0.15 per cent) and Aurobindo PharmaBSE 2.69 % (down 0.08 per cent) were also trading in the red.

However, Glenmark PharmaceuticalsBSE -0.14 % (up 1.31 per cent), Divi’s LaboratoriesBSE 1.01 % (up 1.13 per cent), Cadila HealthcareBSE 0.62 % (up 0.46 per cent) and Piramal Enterprises (up 0.08 per cent) were trading up around that time.

According to the reports published in economictimes.indiatimes.com benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 6 points down at 10,278, while the BSE Sensex was 37 points down at 33,306.

Among the 51 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.

Shares of Tata PowerBSE 0.64 %, Idea CellularBSE -1.46 %, DLF, SAILBSE 0.18 %, Bank of BarodaBSE -0.65 %, Punjab National BankBSE -0.24 %, State Bank of IndiaBSE -0.79 %, ICICI BankBSE -0.64 %, YES BankBSE 0.14 %, Ashok Leyland, PFC and ITCBSE 0.85 % were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange.

GAIL, YES Bank, Coal IndiaBSE 0.07 %, IndusInd BankBSE 2.11 %, Bharti Infratel, Bajaj AutoBSE 0.96 % and NTPCBSE 0.22 % were among the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.

Ambuja Cements, ICICI Bank, UltraTech CementBSE 0.95 %, Cipla, Tech MahindraBSE 0.89 % and State Bank of India were among the top losers in the Nifty pack of stocks.
