Nightingales Launches Home Healthcare Services in Hyderabad

In a move that signifies the changing dynamics of healthcare delivery in Hyderabad, Nightingales the pioneers of Home Health Services in India in the management of chronic disease at home has launched its services in Hyderabad

Nightingales Home Health services, a Medwell Ventures company with an expertise of 18yrs has redefined the way homecare services are delivered. The company provides specialty home care services with a focus on Pulmonology, Cardiology, Metabolic diseases, Neurological health, Orthopedics, Physiotherapy, Post-Operative Surgical site management for diabetic patients and home dentistry. It provides 85,000 patient services at home per annum in Bangalore and is on the path to establish a network across 16 major Indian cities supported by a cloud-based Technology platform and protocol-driven services in specialized therapeutic areas. Hyderabad is the second city in the network.
Demographical and lifestyle changes coupled with altering disease profiles are creating a strong need in India to create new models of healthcare delivery that are affordable and accessible. A countrywide survey has revealed that as much as 65 per cent of Indian population cannot access modern medical treatment. Under these circumstances, the emerging home healthcare concept will be a key contributor to supporting patient care in the country.

India’s estimated US $3 bn home healthcare market will mirror the growth seen by some of the other countries specifically in US and UK. The home healthcare market in North America is estimated to be US $ 130 bn by 2017 while the European Home Healthcare market will be worth US $ 57.2 bn by 2017 with Germany, France and UK dominating the requirement.

Hyderabad has seen the rise of chronic diseases with more than 25% rise in Pulmonology ailments, 1 lac population who are detected and confirmed Alzheimer’s and dementia patient but the sad fact is that there is a 3 fold burden which goes undedicated in Telangana. Heart failure affects Approx 5 million patients in the country and out of which 20 percent are from city of Hyderabad, Hyderabad sees about 6 new cancer patients every day and the prevalence of heart disease particularly in young 30-40 years is the highest.
